White Bread from Phillis Pellman Good
White Bread from Phillis Pellman Good
The Old Order Amish meet in homes for their Sunday morning services. The hosting family, with the assistance of neighbors and extended family, prepares a lunch for all who have attended.
An Amish mother of nine grown children explains, “Now for church we use homemade bread. Years ago we bought it. But it’s cheaper to make our own—and better. We help each other so that whoever has church doesn’t need to make it all.”
