Zucchini and Sausage Stovetop Delight

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 lb. ground beef
- ½ lb. ground Italian pork sausage
- 3 to 4 zucchini quartered and sliced 1/2-inch thick
- 26- oz. jar spaghetti sauce
- 14-1/2 oz. can crushed tomatoes
- 6- oz. can tomato paste
- ½ cup water
- ½ teaspoon dried basil
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8- oz. package shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3 cups elbow macaroni cooked
Instructies
- In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil.
- Sauté garlic and onion until tender, about 5 minutes.
- Add ground beef and ground Italian pork sausage; cook until browned.
- Drain any excess fat.
- Add zucchini, spaghetti sauce, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and water.
- Cover and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, until the zucchini is tender.
- Add dried basil, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Stir to combine.
- Top the mixture with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Serve the Zucchini and Sausage Stovetop Delight over cooked elbow macaroni.
