Homemade Apple Chutney
This homemade apple chutney is the perfect balance of sweet, tart, and spicy. Made with fresh apples and warm spices, it’s a delightful accompaniment to curries, meats, or cheese platters.

Ingrediënten
- 3 Apples peeled, cored, and chopped
- ½ cup Brown sugar
- ½ cup White vinegar
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- ¼ cup Raisins
- 1 tsp Ground ginger
- ½ tsp Ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp Ground cloves
- ¼ tsp Ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- ½ cup Water
Instructies
- Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook for 5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the chopped apples, raisins, ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt.
- Add the brown sugar, vinegar, and water.
- Stir to combine.
- Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and cook for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chutney thickens and the apples soften.
- Once cooked, remove from heat and allow the chutney to cool.
- Store in sterilized jars and refrigerate.
- The chutney will last for up to 2 weeks.
