Broccoli With Garlic Butter and Cashews

  • pounds fresh broccoli about 1 bunch
  • cup butter or margarine
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons white vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • cup salted roasted cashews

Instructies

  • Remove and discard broccoli leaves and tough ends of stalks; cut broccoli into spears.
  • Arrange broccoli in a steamer basket over boiling water.
  • Cover and steam 5 to 6 minutes or until crisp-tender.
  • Arrange broccoli on a serving platter.
  • Set aside, and keep warm.
  • Place butter in a 1-cup glass measuring cup.
  • Microwave at HIGH 15 seconds or until butter melts.
  • Stir in brown sugar and next 4 ingredients.
  • Microwave at HIGH 45 seconds or until mixture comes to a boil.
  • Stir in cashews.
  • Pour garlic sauce over broccoli, and serve immediately.
