How To Make Mexican Style Salsa Verde
The hero ingredient in Mexican Salsa Verde is the Tomatillo. This nightshade looks like a mini green tomato with a husk. Fresh tomatillos are difficult to buy in Australia, but you can grown your own or used the canned variety to make a salsa verde. In a blender, combine 400g of canned tomatillos (drained and rinsed throughly) with ½ onion, 2 garlic cloves, 1 bunch of coriander and 1-3 jalapeños, depending on desired heat. Blend until smooth. Add salt to taste.
