Ingrediënten

  • 500 g raw fish with firm flesh e.g., sea bass, snapper, diced
  • 2 small onions finely chopped
  • 4 juicy fresh tomatoes diced
  • 4 fresh green chili peppers to taste can be replaced with fresh green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • Several cloves of garlic finely chopped
  • 8 fresh limes juiced
  • A handful of fresh cilantro coarsely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructies

  • Place the diced raw fish in a bowl.
  • Add the finely chopped onions, tomatoes, green chili peppers (or bell pepper), and garlic to the fish.
  • Squeeze the limes and pour the juice over the fish mixture.
  • Ensure that the fish is completely covered with the lime juice.
  • Let it marinate in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Add the chopped cilantro to the ceviche and mix gently.
  • Add olive oil, salt, and black pepper to taste.
  • Stir again gently to combine all the flavors.

Notes / Tips / Wine Advice:

Serve the ceviche chilled, optionally on a bed of lettuce or with tortilla chips on the side.
