Ceviche
Ceviche is a refreshing appetizer where the fish “cooks” in the acidity of lime juice. It’s light, spicy, and perfect for warm days. Enjoy the flavors of Mexican cuisine!
Ingrediënten
- 500 g raw fish with firm flesh e.g., sea bass, snapper, diced
- 2 small onions finely chopped
- 4 juicy fresh tomatoes diced
- 4 fresh green chili peppers to taste can be replaced with fresh green bell pepper, finely chopped
- Several cloves of garlic finely chopped
- 8 fresh limes juiced
- A handful of fresh cilantro coarsely chopped
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructies
- Place the diced raw fish in a bowl.
- Add the finely chopped onions, tomatoes, green chili peppers (or bell pepper), and garlic to the fish.
- Squeeze the limes and pour the juice over the fish mixture.
- Ensure that the fish is completely covered with the lime juice.
- Let it marinate in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Add the chopped cilantro to the ceviche and mix gently.
- Add olive oil, salt, and black pepper to taste.
- Stir again gently to combine all the flavors.

Serve the ceviche chilled, optionally on a bed of lettuce or with tortilla chips on the side.
