Ingrediënten

  • 3 cans 10.75 ounces each tomato soup
  • 4 cans water use the tomato soup cans for measuring
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 pound hot sausage
  • 1 large onion minced
  • 3 cans 15 ounces each kidney or chili beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cumin
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 3 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Mashed potatoes for serving

Instructies

  • In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef and hot sausage over medium heat.
  • Drain off excess grease.
  • Add minced onion to the pot and sauté until translucent.
  • Stir in tomato soup, water, kidney or chili beans, ground cumin, bay leaves, Tabasco sauce, and salt.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove bay leaves before serving.
  • To serve, ladle the chili over a scoop of mashed potatoes in each bowl.
