Garden Focaccia Bread

Ingrediënten

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp instant yeast
  • 1 ½ cups ice water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil divided
  • 2 tsp honey
  • tomatoes chives, bell pepper, fresh basil, thyme to create the picture of a garden

Instructies

  • Whisk together water + honey + salt + yeast in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the flour and stir with a wooden spoon until the dough is sticky, but a bit rough.
  • Lightly grease the dough and cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let rise at room temperature for 10 to 13 hours.
  • Coat a baking sheet with 1 tablespoon olive oil.
  • Place the dough from the bowl onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Brush the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over the dough.
  • Use your fingertips to press the dough into the corners of the pan.
  • Cover the dough and let it sit for 15 min.
  • Meanwhile, heat your oven to 4750 F.
  • Using your imagination create the garden on your focaccia.
  • Place the vegetables on the dough slicing them like you need.
  • Be sure to press well the slices into the base of the dough.
  • You can also ask your children to help you with this process.
  • I’m sure they will like it!
  • After the picture is ready, bake focaccia for 15 to 20 minutes or until the dough is golden brown.
