Grilled Fresh Tuna

Citrus juices and soy sauce give extra zip to these tuna steaks. Serve them with sugar snap peas and rice for a meal.

Makes 4 servings

Prep: 10 min., Chill: 1 hr., Cook: 3 min., Grill: 6 min.

  • 4 5-ounce tuna steaks (about ¾ inch thick)
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1 garlic clove minced

Instructies

  • Place tuna in a large zip-top freezer bag.
  • Combine orange juice and next 7 ingredients, and pour over tuna steaks.
  • Seal bag, and chill 1 hour.
  • Remove tuna from marinade, reserving marinade.
  • Pour marinade into a small saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil; remove from heat.
  • Place a lightly greased food grate on grill over medium heat (300° to 350°).
  • Place steaks on grate; brush with marinade.
  • Grill, covered, 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Brush with marinade; turn steaks, and brush with marinade.
  • Grill, covered, 2 to 3 minutes or to desired degree of doneness.
