Grilled Italian Sausage Skewers
Ingrediënten
- 1 lb. uncooked Italian sausage links cut into 1-inch pieces
- 6 large fresh mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon margarine or butter
- 1 medium sweet red pepper cut into chunks
- 1 medium green pepper cut into chunks
Instructies
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat or preheat the broiler.
- In a saucepan, simmer the sausage pieces in enough water to cover for 5 to 10 minutes until partially cooked; then drain.
- In another saucepan, simmer the mushrooms in margarine or butter and enough water to cover for 3 to 4 minutes; then drain.
- On skewers, alternately thread the partially cooked sausage pieces, mushrooms, and chunks of sweet red and green peppers.
- Place the skewers on the preheated grill or under the broiler.
- Grill or broil the skewers for 7 to 8 minutes on each side, or until the sausage is fully cooked and the vegetables are tender and slightly charred.
- Remove the skewers from the grill or broiler and serve hot
