Italian Bread Salad
With meat, cheese, and bread, this salad makes a filling meal.

- 4 cups 1-inch cubed French bread
- 6 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¾ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- ⅛ to ¼ teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
- 1 large head romaine lettuce chopped
- 4 to 5 large plum tomatoes chopped
- 2 cups chopped smoked ham
- 1 8-ounce package fresh mozzarella cheese, cubed
- 3 green onions chopped
Instructies
- Place bread cubes on a baking sheet.
- Bake at 325° for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Whisk together oil, vinegar, and next 5 ingredients.
- Place 3 cups toasted bread cubes in a large bowl or on a large serving platter.
- Top with lettuce and next 3 ingredients.
- Drizzle with dressing.
- Let stand 15 minutes; toss.
- Sprinkle evenly with remaining bread cubes and green onions.
