Italian Ciabatta Bread

Ingrediënten

Servings: 1 loaf

  • 2 cups+ 3 tbsp all-purpose flour divided
  • 1 cup + 1 tbsp lukewarm water divided
  • 2 tbsp active dry yeast
  • ½ tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructies

  • In a small mixing bowl, add 1 cup of water+ yeast + honey, and allow the mixture to sit for 5 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl add the flour + yeast mixture + the remaining water.
  • Whip thoroughly with a wooden spoon, and sprinkle in the salt.
  • Continue combining until you have loose and sticky dough.
  • Sprinkle the dough’s top with a spoonful of the remaining flour and cover with a large tea towel.
  • Let it rise for 2 hours.
  • In the meantime, pre-heat your oven to 425 F.
  • As the oven heats, line a medium cookie sheet with parchment paper and sprinkle with a tablespoon of flour.
  • Carefully transfer the dough to the cookie sheet, floured side facing the top.
  • Next, place a pan at the oven’s bottom and put 5 ice cubes on top to create vapor.
  • Bake your bread for 25 minutes.
  • Let it cool and serve.
