Italian-Style Tuna Melt
The recipe is a classic type of tuna melt sandwich. It takes a short time to prepare and does not take a lot of mayonnaise.

- 2, 5 oz. cans drained tuna
- 1 diced small red onion
- ¼ cup chopped green olives
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp bottled pesto
- 1 tbsp rinsed and chopped capers
- 1 fresh lemon juice
- 8 whole-wheat bread slices of bread
- 2 oz. low-fat mozzarella shreds
- 1 large sliced tomato
- 1 tsp olive oil
Instructies
- Mix the tuna, pesto, olives, mayonnaise, onions, capers, and lemon juice in a bowl.
- Stir the mixture.
- On moderate heat, preheat a non-stick pan.
- Coat it with oil.
- Layer the tuna mixture on four bread slices, followed by tomato slices before topping with mozzarella shreds, then cover with the remaining slices.
- Cook for 5 minutes on every side, ensuring the cheese gets to melt.
