Middle Eastern Chicken Meatballs

These chicken meatballs are traditional in the Middle East. This dish can be eaten alone or these meatballs can be served in a pita pocket. It can also be served either hot or cold.

Ingrediënten

  • 2 cooked chicken breasts
  • 2 slices of white bread crusts removed
  • 1 large egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Juice of ½ of a lemon
  • Flour for rolling
  • Oil for frying
  • Milk for soaking bread

Instructies

  • Mince chicken with a food processor or chop the chicken extremely fine if a food processor is not available.
  • Soak bread in milk and squeeze the slices dry.
  • Rip the bread into pieces.
  • Combine the chicken, bread, egg, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  • Mix well.
  • Shape the meat mixture into balls.
  • Meatballs should be 1 inch or less in size.
  • Roll the meatballs in flour and fry them in oil.
  • The meatballs will be dark golden when they are fully cooked.
  • Squeeze a few drops of lemon juice over each meatball.
