Party-Sized Turkey Meatballs
Party-Sized Turkey Meatballs
This recipe is perfect for a crowd-pleasing appetizer or side dish. It is
best served with a spaghetti sauce, simple tomato sauce, or
marinara sauce. This recipe uses marinara sauce, but feel free to
use your favorite!
Ingrediënten
- 1 small onion chopped
- 3 garlic cloves finely minced
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup of dried bread crumbs
- 3 tablespoons of ketchup
- ¼ cup of Italian parsley leaves chopped
- ¼ grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ grated Pecorino Romano cheese
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- ¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper
- 1 pound ground dark turkey meat
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 26 ounces of marinara sauce
Instructies
- Add the first 10 ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.
- Blend well.
- Add in the turkey and mix well.
- Shape the turkey into 1 1/4 –inch meatballs.
- Place them on a large plate or baking sheet.
- Heat the oil in a large skill over medium-high heat.
- Add the meatballs and sauté until browned on all sides.
- This should take about 5 minutes.
- Turn off the heat, and transfer the meatballs to a plate.
- Drain any excess oil.
- Add marinara sauce to the skillet.
- Return the meatballs to the pan.
- Simmer at medium-low heat until the sauce thickens, usually between 15 and 20 minutes.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Transfer the mixture to serving bowl.
- Use toothpicks to serve.
