A Cherry Compote with Lemon Verbena
Ingredients
Serves 4 to 6
- 2 cups sweet cherries halved and pitted
- ½ cup sugar
- 5 lemon verbena leaves
Instructions
- In a small pot, combine the cherries and sugar.
- Add ¼ cup water and the lemon verbena.
- Set the pot over low heat and stir occasionally until the mixture comes to a simmer.
- Simmer until the cherries are completely soft, 6 to 8 minutes.
- Remove the pot from the heat and discard the lemon verbena.
- Serve warm.
