Base Recipe
- 3 pounds chicken wings
- Chosen marinade see below
- Cooking spray
Sticky Sesame Marinade:
- 4 thinly sliced green onions
- 3 crushed cloves of garlic
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup Chinese cooking wine Shaoxing
- 3 teaspoons finely grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds for serving
- Extra sliced green onions for serving
Sticky Pomegranate Marinade:
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1.5 cups pomegranate juice
- 3 teaspoons grated orange rind
- 2 crushed cloves of garlic
- 1.5 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1.5 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- ⅛ cup ketchup
- Pomegranate seeds for serving
Smoky Barbecue Marinade:
- ½ cup honey
- ½ cup smoky barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
- Thinly sliced long red chili for serving
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
Sticky Sesame Marinade:
- In a bowl, combine thinly sliced green onions, crushed cloves of garlic, soy sauce, Chinese cooking wine (Shaoxing), finely grated ginger, and brown sugar.
- Serve the cooked wings topped with toasted sesame seeds and extra sliced green onions.
Sticky Pomegranate Marinade:
- In a saucepan, stir together brown sugar, pomegranate juice, grated orange rind, crushed cloves of garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and stir occasionally over medium heat for 10 minutes or until it is reduced by half.
- Serve the cooked wings topped with pomegranate seeds.
Smoky Barbecue Marinade:
- In a bowl, combine honey, smoky barbecue sauce, and teriyaki sauce.
