Asian-Glazed Asparagus
Toast sesame seeds by spreading them out in a thin layer in a shallow pan. Bake at 350° for 4 to 6 minutes, stirring twice.
Ingredients
- Makes 4 to 6 servings / Prep: 3 min. Cook: 9 min.
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- ¾ cup chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 2 pounds fresh asparagus
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ⅛ teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds toasted
Instructions
- Combine first 4 ingredients in a small saucepan.
- Bring to a boil; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat; set aside
- Snap off tough ends of asparagus.
- Cook asparagus in hot olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring often, 6 minutes or until crisp-tender.
- Add chicken broth mixture to asparagus; cook, stirring constantly 1 minute or until thoroughly heated.
- Stir in pepper.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Serve immediately.
