Banana-Mango Drink

Licuado de Plátano y Mango
Add cold milk to the fresh fruit in a blended drink, and it becomes a licuado, another type of fresca, or fresh drink. This creamy, rich drink is delicious and satisfying.

Ingredients

Makes 2 servings

  • ½ ripe mango
  • 2 cups cold whole or low-fat milk
  • 1 medium ripe banana peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  • To peel and cut up the mango, cut ½ of the mango away from the flat oval seed with a sharp paring knife.
  • Then lay the cut half on a flat surface, skin side down, and make cross-cuts on the fruit, separating the flesh into cubes.
  • (Do not cut through the peel.
  • ) Push the fruit inside out and cut the cubes off the peel.
  • Discard the peel and put the pieces of fruit in a blender jar.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and purée until smooth.

Serve cold.
