Ingredients
Makes 8 (4-inch) waffles
Prep: 10 min., Cook: 15 min.
- 4 large eggs separated
- 3 tablespoons butter melted
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- Sweetened whipped cream
- Sliced fresh strawberries
Instructions
- Beat egg yolks at medium speed with an electric mixer until thick and pale.
- Add butter and vanilla, beating until blended.
- Set aside.
- Combine flour and salt.
- Add flour mixture and milk to egg mixture, beating until smooth.
- Set aside.
- Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, and fold into batter.
- Bake in a preheated, oiled waffle iron until golden.
- Serve with sweetened whipped cream and strawberries.
