Chicken Glaze

Makes 3 Cups
This is just what you need for your cupcake chicken , your chicken thighs, or if you want to get fancy and glaze a whole bird.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup Jack’s Old South Vinegar Sauce or make your own
  • ½ cup Jack’s Old South Hickory Sauce or make your own
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ½ cup dark brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons ½ stick unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  • Pour all the ingredients into the base of a large blender.
  • Blend thoroughly to combine for about 3 minutes.
  • Pour the mixture into a medium pot and, over medium heat, stir constantly until the sauce is hot.
  • Do not allow it to come to a boil.
  • Remove from the stove and glaze your chicken while the sauce is still warm.
  • If you are reserving this for a later use, pour the sauce into a large container.
  • Store, refrigerated, for up to 2 months.
  • Always reheat this glaze before using.
