Ingredients

  • 5 lbs. chicken wings drumettes
  • 12 fl. oz. Louisiana-style hot sauce such as Crystal Hot Sauce
  • 1-2 sticks unsalted butter

Instructions

  • In a deep fryer or large skillet, heat oil to 375°F (190°C).
  • Fry the chicken wings in batches until they are golden brown and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes per batch.
  • Drain the fried wings on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  • In a deep pan or crock pot, melt the butter over low heat.
  • Stir in the Louisiana-style hot sauce until well combined with the melted butter.
  • Add the fried chicken wings to the sauce mixture and toss to coat evenly.
  • Heat the wings thoroughly in the sauce over low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Once heated through, transfer the hot and spicy chicken wings to a serving platter and serve immediately.
