Peanut Brittle

Ingredients

  • 2 cups peanuts
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup peanut butter

Instructions

  • Grease a large cookie sheet, set aside.
  • In a large saucepan mix together white sugar and water.
  • Cook over medium heat to dissolve sugar, this will take about 5 minutes.
  • Mix in corn syrup.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Add peanuts, mix in well.
  • Continue cooking until it is bubbling.
  • Mix in peanut butter, salt and baking soda.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Pour mixture into baking pan, use a spatula to make flat and even.
  • Allow to cool for one to two hours.
  • Break into pieces and serve.
