Warm Slaw

A variation on sweet and sour cabbage, warm slaw has a creamier dressing but a similar effect.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 quart shredded cabbage
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • cups water
  • 5 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar

Instructions

  • Melt butter in saucepan and add cabbage.
  • Stir thoroughly; then add salt and water.
  • Cover and cook 10 minutes.
  • In a bowl mix sugar, egg, flour, and milk.
  • Add to the cabbage.
  • Cook another minute.
  • Add the vinegar and serve.
