Sicilian Thick Crust Pizza Dough

Ingrediënten
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 325 ml warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 7 g active dry yeast
Instructies
- In a large bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water, then sprinkle yeast over the top.
- Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Add olive oil and salt to the yeast mixture, then slowly incorporate flour, stirring until the dough begins to come together.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1-1.
- 5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F) and grease a baking sheet.
- Punch down the dough and roll it out to fit the baking sheet.
- Let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Bake the dough in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
- Add your desired toppings and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, until the cheese melts and bubbles.
