Ingrediënten

  • 1 Granny Smith apple
  • 4-5 oz. smoked Gouda cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 slices Hawaiian sweet bread
  • Butter or butter spread

Instructies

  • Peel and core the Granny Smith apple, then slice it into about 16 slices.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Add the sliced apples and cook for about 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the slices soften.
  • Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • On the non-buttered side of two slices of bread, arrange ¼ of the smoked Gouda cheese.
  • Spread half of the cooked apple slices on each slice of bread, then add the remaining cheese on top of the apples.
  • Top each sandwich with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
  • Cook the sandwiches at 325°F for four minutes on each side.
