Smoky Fried Calamari
Calamari can be found in the frozen section, sometimes already cut into circles; however, fresh squid tubes can be purchased at the fish counter, and they are easy to slice at home.

- 1 ½ tablespoons no-sugar-added tomato paste
- ¾ tablespoon gochujang
- ¾ tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup crushed pork rinds
- 150 grams about 6 calamari tubes, cut into 6mm rings
Instructies
- Preheat air fryer at 200°C for 3 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together tomato paste, gochujang, lime juice, paprika and salt.
- Add pork rinds to a separate shallow dish.
- Coat a calamari ring in tomato mixture.
- Shake off excess.
- Roll through pork rind crumbs.
- Repeat with remaining rings.
- Place half of calamari rings in air fryer basket lightly greased with olive oil.
- Cook for 2 minutes.
- Gently flip and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Transfer cooked calamari to a large serving dish and repeat cooking with remaining calamari.
- Serve warm.
