Instructies

Prepare the Dough:

  • Follow steps 1 and 2 of the Sweet Filled Bread Rings recipe for preparing and kneading the dough.
  • Do not let it rise at this stage.

Shaping the Rolls:

  • Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces.
  • Shape each piece into an oval and cut a slit lengthwise down the center of each oval.
  • Place these rolls on a cookie sheet and allow them to rise in a warm place (like an oven turned off) for about 3 hours until they double in size.
  • Fill the slit in each roll with about 1 teaspoon of sugar.

Preheat and Bake:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Lightly beat the egg with 1 teaspoon of water in a small bowl.
  • Brush this egg wash over the tops of the rolls, avoiding the sugared part.
  • Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until they turn well browned.

Serving:

  • Serve the Suizos warm, fresh from the oven or reheated.
