Instructies
Prepare the Dough:
Follow steps 1 and 2 of the Sweet Filled Bread Rings recipe for preparing and kneading the dough.
Do not let it rise at this stage.
Shaping the Rolls:
Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces.
Shape each piece into an oval and cut a slit lengthwise down the center of each oval.
Place these rolls on a cookie sheet and allow them to rise in a warm place (like an oven turned off) for about 3 hours until they double in size.
Fill the slit in each roll with about 1 teaspoon of sugar.
Preheat and Bake:
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Lightly beat the egg with 1 teaspoon of water in a small bowl.
Brush this egg wash over the tops of the rolls, avoiding the sugared part.
Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until they turn well browned.
Serving:
Serve the Suizos warm, fresh from the oven or reheated.
