Tangy Orange Glazed Tofu Delight

- For the Tofu:
- 1 block tofu pressed and cubed
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- ½ tbsp liquid aminos
- ¼ tsp sesame oil
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Sesame seeds and scallions for garnish
- For the Orange Glaze Sauce:
- 2 fl oz water
- 2 fl oz orange juice
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- ⅛ tsp ginger
- ⅛ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tbsp liquid aminos or low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- ½ tbsp cornstarch + 1/2 tbsp water mixed together to form a slurry
Instructies
- Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
- In a pot over high heat, mix all the sauce ingredients except the cornstarch slurry.
- Bring to a boil and let it boil for 1 minute, then reduce the heat to medium-low.
- Add the cornstarch slurry to the sauce and whisk vigorously until dissolved.
- Cook for about 3 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
- Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
- In a medium-sized bowl, add the pressed and cubed tofu.
- Toss the tofu in the liquid aminos until coated, then add the garlic powder, salt, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper.
- Toss until the tofu is thoroughly coated.
- Place the tofu in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring each piece has some space around it.
- Cook in the air fryer for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
- Once the tofu is cooked, toss it in the prepared orange glaze sauce until completely coated.
- Serve the tangy orange glazed tofu sprinkled with sesame seeds and chopped scallions.
