Turnip Fries with Bagel Seasoning

Have you ever wondered what to do with that weird little purplish-white orb in the produce section? Throw that turnip in your basket and give it a try with this tasty recipe. This root vegetable is loaded with fibre and nutrients and low in carbs!

Equipment

Ingrediënten

  • 2 medium turnips peeled and cut into 6mm fries
  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil
  • 2 teaspoons bagel seasoning see recipe below

Instructies

  • Preheat air fryer to 200°C for 3 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, toss fries with avocado oil and 1 teaspoon seasoning.
  • Place fries in air fryer basket lightly greased with olive oil and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Shake basket and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Shake, then cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Transfer to a medium serving plate, garnish with remaining seasoning, and serve warm.

Bagel seasoning

Bagel seasoning is a yummy mix of toppings you’d find on a bagel and tastes great on roasted vegetables or sprinkled on smashed avocado. Simply combine the following ingredients: 2 tablespoons toasted white sesame seeds, 1 ½ tablespoons toasted black sesame seeds, 1 ½ tablespoons dried onion flakes, 1 tablespoon dried garlic flakes, 1 tablespoon poppy seeds and 1 tablespoon salt flakes. Store in an airtight jar.
