Whole Wheat Quick Bread

Ingrediënten

Makes 1 loaf

Prep: 5 min., Bake: 1 hr.

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • cups buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine melted
  • ¾ cup chopped pecans toasted (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons uncooked regular oats optional

Instructies

  • Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Combine buttermilk and next 3 ingredients; add to dry ingredients, stirring until blended.
  • Stir in pecans, if desired.
  • Pour batter into a well-greased 9- x 5-inch loaf pan.
  • Sprinkle with oats, if desired.
  • Bake at 375° for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in center of bread comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 minutes.
  • Remove from pan, and cool completely on wire rack.
