Instructions
In a small bowl, combine yeast, sugar, and warm water.
Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
In a large bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, olive oil, and salt.
Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture.
Stir to form a soft dough, adding more flour if necessary.
Turn the dough onto a floured board and knead for 7–10 minutes until it becomes supple and elastic.
Transfer the dough to a large bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Punch down the dough.
To assemble the pizza:
Roll the dough into a 13-inch circle.
Transfer the dough to an oiled 12-inch pizza pan, folding the excess dough over to create a small rim.
Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
Sprinkle most of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce, reserving some for the topping.
Add cooked meats, vegetables, and the remaining mozzarella cheese.
Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
Let the assembled pizza rise in a warm spot for 25 minutes.
To bake the pizza:
Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
Bake the pizza for about 25 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
Let the pizza rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
