Hush Puppies
Ingrediënten
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- ½ cup milk may need a bit more
- 4 slices bacon optional
Instructies
- If using bacon, cut up and fry the bacon.
- (Save the grease for frying the hush puppies.
- )
- In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients.
- In another bowl, mix together the egg and milk and then add it to the dry ingredients; mix well.
- Add bacon if using and mix well again.
- Drop by large spoonfuls into bacon grease or oil and fry until golden brown.
Notes / Tips / Wine Advice:
Serve with maple syrup or eat plain.
