Instructies
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with a mixer on medium to high speed for about 30 seconds.
Add the granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Continue beating until well combined, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed.
Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
Gradually beat in as much of the all-purpose flour as you can with the mixer.
Stir in any remaining flour by hand.
Divide the dough in half, cover it, and chill for about 30 minutes or until the dough is easy to handle.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
On a floured surface, roll out one portion of the dough at a time until it's between 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick.
Use your favorite cookie cutters to cut out the dough into desired shapes.
Place the cutouts approximately 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 7 to 10 minutes or until the edges are firm and the bottoms are a very light brown.
Transfer the baked cookies to wire racks and let them cool completely.
