Instructies
Prepare Dough:
Make the bread dough according to steps 1 and 2 of the Basic Long Loaf recipe.
Once risen, punch down the dough and knead it for about 5 minutes.
Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each into a ball.
Roll out each ball into a 5 x 3-inch rectangle.
Preheat Oven:
Preheat the oven to 450°F.
Assemble the Buns:
Place one piece of chorizo and one slice of bacon in the center of each dough rectangle.
Fold the sides and ends of the dough over the sausage and bacon, pinching and sealing the edges well.
Prepare Baking Sheet:
Sprinkle a baking sheet with cornmeal or bread crumbs.
Place the buns seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Let them sit in a warm place (like an unheated oven) for about 30 minutes.
Brush with Egg and Bake:
Brush the buns with the beaten egg.
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
Serve:
Enjoy the Bollo Preñado either hot or at room temperature.
