In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, beat together butter, sugar, and egg until light and fluffy.
Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix until well blended.
Add vanilla and almond extracts and mix well.
With your hands, form the dough into balls, crescents, or S-shapes, using about ½ tbsp.

Place cookies 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet.
Put the cookie sheet on the middle oven rack and bake for 15 minutes, or until barely brown around the edges.
Remove cookies from the cookie sheet with a spatula and cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes.
With a flour sifter, sprinkle powdered sugar over the cookies.
