Yucatán Salsa Blanca

Yucatán White Sauce
This is the traditional gravy to serve with Yucatán Stuffed Turkey Breast with White Sauce. The sauce is also good as a topping over cauliflower or broccoli.

Ingrediënten

Makes about 2 cups

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups canned chicken broth or turkey broth
  • Salt to taste

Instructies

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in the flour and cook, stirring, about 1 minute.
  • Remove the pan from and heat and add the broth all at once.
  • Whisk to mix.
  • Return the pan to the heat and whisk constantly until the sauce comes to a boil and thickens, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  • Add salt, if needed.
